Purpose of the role:

Working closely and as part of LovinCare Services’ health care assistant team, you will ensure that clients receive the highest standards of care and support through the effective allocation of staff. You will direct, mentor, and supervise the team to ensure quality standards are maintained and that care is delivered in a timely way in line with the client’s individual needs and wishes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise the care team whilst considering the changing needs of clients.
  • To clearly set out the expectations for each shift and direct the team accordingly.
  • To promote dignity, respect and choice for clients always ensuring that the care teamwork within this ethos.
  • To be accountable on shifts; ensuring that the services run smoothly.
  • Ensure that care and support are provided for clients in a timely way, upholding and improving standards of care delivery.
  • To ensure that all care staff engage in activities supporting clients’ involvement to enhance well-being and quality of life.
  • Uphold and embed the company values and ethos
  • To act as a role model and be always an exemplar to the care team
  • To have a good understanding of individual client’s needs and be able to respond effectively and responsively to changing needs.
  • To ensure all care is delivered to the highest possible standard.
  • Drive improvements in care delivery by upskilling the care team members, through observation and mentoring.
  • Support and mentor new team members.
  • To always ensure the emotional well-being of clients.
  • To cover shifts when required with a flexible working pattern.
  • To promote good communication among the team.
  • To ensure that all documentation completed by the care team and you is done so as near to the point of care delivery, is accurate and includes information about how the person has spent their day and their overall well-being.
  • To adhere to all safeguarding processes that are always followed.
  • To monitor the care practice of individual carers, addressing any issues of concern proactively, including reporting and documenting as required.

Statutory Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all staff, including yourself, take reasonable care of their own and other people’s health and safety whilst at work
  • Ensure that all staff attend and follow the training provided by the organisation to maintain good health and safety standards and are familiar with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all staff report accidents, incidents, and unsafe practices to the appropriate designated people.

Purpose of the role:

Working closely and as part of LovinCare Services’  health care assistant team, you will ensure that clients receive the highest standards of care. You will deliver exceptional person-centred care and support to give individuals the opportunity to maintain their independence and gain new skills.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • To provide personal care such as showering, shaving, oral hygiene and dressing
  • To monitor clients’ health and wellbeing
  • Maintaining records and reporting any changes
  • Assisting with meal preparation and household task
  • To provide emotional support and companionship
  • Involvement with writing clients’ care plan
  • Providing information to family members regarding the care plan
  • Ensuring that the client’s needs and wishes are met
  • Working with other health and social care professionals to provide holistic care
  • Recording essential information in the clients’ daily reports accurately and immediately (communication systems, care and health monitoring, accident and incident reports)
  • Administering medication under supervision (as detailed in their individual medication administration record)
  • Gently encouraging clients to get involved with  recreational activities and hobbies
  • Giving feedback to health and social care professionals

Please note: it is very important to note that each client has a personalised care plan which contains everything the client needs.  It will outline their individual preferences, likes, dislikes and requirements. This is a live document and will need to be kept updated to ensure that the care and support provided is appropriate and MUST be followed strictly.

You MUST also respect clients’ privacy, dignity, and individuality, and communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals. You MUST follow the company’s safeguarding policy and procedure with empathy and compassion, to provide high-quality care to all clients.
